Joint Family:Is adjustment so difficult?

I hv posted my case many times here. Its not about anything new, but i love this forum coz i dont hv to think twice before starting my stories. I stay with my inlaws and they take care of my kid. They think they are so God-sent. Though I am adjusting to anything they do, not now, but right from when i got married. I am not in agreement with many things they do, but i keep it to myself coz i know 2 people from different families might not talk and do the same thing. But man.. its now getting too much. Its 2 years since we started living together again after my kid was born.. and they hv started creating problems again.. finding fault with everything they do, not talking with me and their son for days, weeks and months together. I go to work and find it really tuff with ppl not talking properly at home. I used to earlier talk to them myself.. keep talking until they become ok. but now, my ego is also preventing me from keep talking since i dont get any response. I can put my kid in the day care facility my workplace offers and they know i can do that. but still they think they are taking great care of my kid and that i cannot manage without them. thats the reason why they do whatever they like. We spend for all the monthly expenses for the family and even for their expenses, get them gifts now and then, take them out almost every weekend wherever we go.. now they find fault for every small things we do (last time they made a very big issue out of me not keeping a container lid in the place it needs to be kept, and any other issue is only this frivolous). pls advise what i should do with them.. i hv no plans of living without them.. unless they want it that way. infact i like to stay with lot of people around.. sharing work and hving fun together. but looks like these ppl hv got bored with us.

Hi w

u r right dear.....adjustment with in-laws is very-very difficult... they do think tht whtever they do n think is right only and others are absolutely wrong....i m also married from last 2 yrs... and i m also facing the same problem as u....my FIL also used to comment on me.... no management...no planning... wake up early....do the things this way blah blah blah!!!!
he used to say if u get separate then u' ll realise our importance and u cant do anything n all............ comeon yar we can do ourself all the things.... it is strange tht ur in laws dont love their son????? my in laws love my hubby a lot but they dont like me at all.... but who will tell them tht their son will be happy only when i m happy and they dont let me happy..... anyways wht u can do is just ignore them.... thts wht i m doing..... just ask them for something needful..... i mean ask them for water....food etc... dont bother at all otherwise u' ll not be able to work properly at office and home....... just be happy with ur hubby and give time to ur child as much possible thts wht i m doing..... i also used to serve my MIL...like unke per dabana jab raat mein sara kam khatam ho jata hai..... this may give her some pleasure as she is very tired taking care of my son all the day... so there are some little things u need to ignore to be happy.....

dont know how much will it help u....

thanks

Jyoti

Should a single man live with his mum in India?
I am a man in my late 40s and I have lived abroad in USA for the past two decades. I never had any interest in marrying or having kids so I never married. Recently my Dad passed away and my mother will be alone. I have made enough money to retire comfortably but because I am used to the American lifestyle I can't live in India. Recently my relatives have started saying tha... - Venkat Dabri [View Message]
