I had taken a break from my job and I plan to resume now. My baby is three months old but I have some apprehensions. I feel guilty of leaving my young baby behind? How can I balance my life and work?

Being a working mother is very tough. Emotionally it is very taxing. I am also a new mother and I know it is impossible to escape the guilt. Getting organized and having a back-up plan help reduce guilt. Seeking support from relatives, friends and husband is a great idea. Above all a positive attitude will keep you smiling.

I completely agree with you. Returning to work post maternity leave poses an emotional conflict and guilt feeling, but remember this is only for a short period. A proper and careful planning makes this transition smoother. I believe that the first step for this is to find dependable childcare or alternate arrangements. This will take care of the guilt feeling. Opt for flexible work hours, if possible.
