I agree that frustration is one of the most common reasons for biting. Small children do not know how to explain themselves. So they bite or use other ways to communicate. Most of the time, the child outgrows this behaviour on its own. It is just a matter of time. If the situation becomes worse it is important to take doctor’s help to prevent children from biting. Punishment is one of the way to help children avoid biting. However, it is not good to punish children all the time. May be sometimes telling children about how biting can harm calmly may help them to avoid biting.

Subject:  punishment
My brother' s daughter used to bite people. So my sister-in-law came up with a punishment. Whenever she bit someone, she would be punished. My sister-in-law would make her sit alone for some time. Gradually, the biting episodes stopped. It took a long time though. We should thus use such ways to stop children from biting. Biting is a very dangerous and bad habit. It is also very embarrassing if our child bites one of our relatives. It is very important to control this behaviour of child otherwise such habit can be risky for the child’s health.

Subject:  Bad behaviour
I look after my neighbour' s children sometimes and they are very badly behaved. They are always fighting with each other and biting is a regular feature in their fights. They never listen to me. I do not know what their parents are teaching them at home. They are completely out of control. I just want to find a way how I can prevent them from biting. Just if they do not stop biting it can be dangerous for them. Dirt can enter there mouth and they may fall ill. I hope their parents do not blame me for this.
