Hi Rupali, it is good if you ask the doctor and accordingly give to your child. As it can cause a lot of trouble later to the baby. Honey is always the best to stop cough and cold.

I think besan ka halwa would be a lil heavy for your baby as you baby is quite small. You can give him or her ginger and honey for his cold. Along with ginger and honey give him some hot water too.

Hot besan ka halwa is said to be good for the throat but then too much of ghee that is used to make the halwa can be harmful too. And for the ginger and honey, it is one of the best home remedy for cold and cough.

Hi Rupali,
Your baby had cough already and if you feed him any sweet item would cough will never increase. Why don't you prefer any ayurvedic medicine like milk with some pepper haldi. It would cure the cough so fastly. It works also.

Hi Rupali,
My Daughter is 10 months old.She never get heavy cough.
So make this a point that in winter or during season change,do the following:
1.Use \" Vekhanda Powder\" to put on babies chest & back after bath.(Apply it as we use baby' s powder)
2.Spread a little amt of Eukeliptus\" Nilgiri \" oil on baby' s bed, if she ever feels nose choked or cough a llittle.
3.Give honey+turmeric 5-6 times a day to ur baby .Just make a paste of the two, and aply it on ur finger and let them to suck. This way u can give it 5-6 times a day.

I hope if u keep these points in mind, ur baby would not suffer from cough n cold anymore.
Its better to take precaution rather then going for any treatment.
Bye takecare

How to stop cough in 5 minutes!!! This is a must try...
We have all been kept awake by our own or someone else' s cough. Try this and pass it on. The tip and not the cough. ANYTHING is better than antibiotics. Even babies could benefit from this and the parents wouldn' t worry about the safety of their child. And of course, it is harmless and free from any type of side-effects.
WOW! I was raised, and raised my kids with Vicks. How come I never knew this? I can' t wait for my next cough. Amazing!
READ IT ALL. It works 100 percent of the time, although the scientists at the Canada Research council (who discovered it) aren' t sure why.

Treatment:
To stop night time coughing in a child (or an adult, as we found out personally), put Vicks Vapor Rub generously on the bottom of the feet at bedtime and then cover with socks.
