Subject:  Scientifc basis to eclipse and pregnancy myths
Most myths have scientific basis to them and are not just superstitions. For example staying indoors during an eclipse is advisable for pregnant women. pregnant women should not see the eclipse part, nor come out in open during the time of Eclipse. This is just to avoid the child in womb getting affected by the radiation, which is said to cause damages to the child in womb. Similarly eating is avoided by pregnant women during the period and this is due to the fact that a sudden drop in temperatures causes an increase in microbes and germs that may lead to infections.

Eclipse whether solar or lunar do affect pregnant women. they need to be more careful during eclipse. In Hindu culture, pregnant women are advised to take extra care during eclipse. During eclipse, they are advised not to come out and this is due to harmful radiations from sun and moon. Moreover it is better not to take any risks with the pregnancy.
