Hi Archie,
I read in Indiapareting site abt cough. Just see the following post in this site .

Q: I am 21 weeks pregnant. I have a cough and a sore throat, and every time I cough, my baby gets a jerk and my stomach hurts. I have tried all home remedies to avoid taking antibiotics. What should I do?

Sweetie (Seattle, USA)

A: You should take antibiotics and anti-histaminics to avoid coughing, as frequent coughing can cause the baby’s water bag to burst, causing premature labour pains.

I am really scared as i cough lot and its been more than 1 week , still no improvements :(

Archie pls suggest some remedies for general cough ..

Thanks in advance
Renu

You can try the herbal cough syrup - Smile. My Gyni suggested this and said its harmless.

You can also try the home remidy Ginger juice and honey with hotwater

Renu,
you dont' need home remedies, neither I would recommend one.
Since the cough is there over a week you must get it reviewed by your Dr. and if required a prescription.
There is no harm in using some antibiotics while pregnant. Of course all types of antibiotics are not offered during pregnancy but safe ones do job.

Dear Renu,
It's good to see your trust. Remember your OB knows your case better than anyone. You must have some trust in your OB and if you trust a good relation will develop that will end with happiness.
You can tell me what's prescribed if you get one. I will see how it will be of help to you.

Hi Archie,

Thanks for the advice. I generally used avoid taking antibiotics prescribed by doctor. Because I heard from many that we should take antibiotics at all. What a wrong impression I was.
Sure I will consult with my doc and go by her prescription.

Thanks a lot..Archii its like when you tell , I will be more convinieced :)

Thanks again
Renu

hi all, just one month before the due date my baby has born and she s fine now after one month. it was c-section as the amniotic fliuid was more than usual..
So i suggest to all those who phase this problem of Ployhydramnios better do c-section, don't wait for normal delivery and invite problems..
