hi kavi,
you should take only prenatal vitamins during pregnancy. excess of any vitamins during pregnancy may be harmful so switct to prenatal as they have all the vitamins in the required amounts

all the best

Hi,
i'm new to this forum so i dont know if this posting is still going on. But just wanted to let you know that i have read in many places that an overdose of Vitamin A can cause birth defects. Vitamin only in the form of Beta Carotene (like in vegetables) shd be taken. This is the one of the reasons one shd take prenatal vitamins. Hope this helps.

Kavi,

This is Mansi. I think you should switch to prenatal tabs as soon as you can. Dont worry there is nothing wrong in multi-vitamins, its just in the prenatal tabs it has more iron, folic acid & other vitamins needed for a pregnant women thats all.

Anyway CONGRATS for your pregnancy. When is your EDD?

Mansi

hello kavi,
its good that u have asked for suggestion, but i would like to tell that better u consult your own doctor about medicine, how silly question it may be. u can take suggestions regarding other matters about pregnancy, but not about medicines.
(pardon..my friends!!)i am 32 weeks pregnant and was advised to take multivitamin and folic acid tablets for 3 months and later stoped. now i am taking only calcium & iron tablets. so please ask your doctor with whom u r consulting.
take good care till first trimester.
bye
poornima

It's best to take Prenatal vitamins s they contain the desired amounts of iron, folic acid etc recommended for pregnancy. I'm also 5 weeks pregnan and have been taking other Multivitamins and extra folic Acid but will be shifting to Materna soon.

hello editor,
hypertension is high blood pressure, normal blood pressure level is 140/90 but if blood pressure is more than that then its not good for pregnancy, so try to keep your blood pressure under control.... - bhavika [View Message]
