ACUTE CONJUNCTIVITIS MADRAS EYE
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

This Red Eye disease is prevalent in Bangalore now. It is contagious
meaning spread from person to person by using common towels, hand kerchief
etc., It can affect more than one member in family and can affect both
eyes.

Symptoms are:- Mild Irritation and pain in eyes followed by redness and
discharge which is whitish and eyelids get struck to each other in
mornings. There will be no vision disturbance sometimes lids also get
swollen up. It is usually mixture of Bacterial and Viral Infection.

The whole course takes minimum of 5 days to 1 week for cure.

Do' s :
------
01. Care of personal hygiene is very important.
02. Wipe off the discharge with clean towel or kerchief.
03. Apply eye drops and ointment as prescribed by doctor.
04. Take rest for 2-3 days as it may spread to your colleagues.
05. Before putting eye drops wash the eyes.


Don' t :
-------
01. Don' t use common towel.
02. Don' t do self-medication.
03. Don' t stop eye drops after 1-2 days.
