hi

i have gained 80 pounds since i have come to the US ....and desparately need to loose weight could somebody suggest what i need to do to loose weight

secondly ive heard that taking honey in warm water with lemon helps in loosing weight could u please tell me if its true and has anybody tried it

also for all those who are going to help me lemme tell u abt my diet

morning : coffee with 1/3 skim milk and 2/3 water without sugar....or a bowl with cereals bran

lunch : 1 chapati without ghee/oil sabji dal and rice with the starch drained off
--or--
only luttece with a lil boiled chicken pieces

dinner : the same as lunch .....

we eat out only once a week on saturdays

could u please help me modify my diet to loose weight

The key ingredient here is the water- Recent research shows that
drinking 400 ml of water as soon as you wake up in the morning, raises
your metabolic level significantly. Water has significant health benefits-

body is deprived of water, and since most of your body processes use
water as a medium, your body’s machinery slows down through the
night. When you drink water in the morning, it helps to rev the
machinery back into gear, so it kicks up the metabolic rate. The lemon has
Vitamin C, and honey has its health benefits , since they add vitamins,
minerals, and flavour.
So, assuming that your diet , exercise and activity level is the same, and
you start drinking lemon water as soon as you wake up, it will increase
your metabolic level. With an increase in your metabolic level, your body
will burn more calories for the same activity. Same number of calories
going on, more calories going out (from your raised metabolic rate). So
you will lose some weight from drinking lemon water in the short term.
But once your body gets used to lemon and hot water, the weight loss
will really slow down or stop.
So, drinking hot water and lemon is good for health. But, can you lose 5
lbs of weight, from drinking hot water, lemon and honey in the morning?
No. Will drinking hot water and lemon reduce any fat? No.

I suggest you take more water in morning as much possible and Take a glass of hot water and add one spoon honey. Have it every day, weight will be reduced. i think its will be useful for you..

I definitely agree with the folks who said drinking Honey with warm water will help you in reducing weight.Thats absolutely right. Also, to share with drinking Green tea along with honey in warm/Hot water early morning is also a good solution which will help you in reducing your weight.Green tea is a hunger suppressant which will suppress your intake of food which is also harmless. You have to drink at least 5 to 6 cups of Green tea in hot water either mixing honey or Sugarfree daily.The way I used to have this is, morning I will have a cup of green tea with Honey in hot water and then 3 to 4 cups before my lunch with a sugarfree tablet. As of now I have reduced 1.5 kg since a week.

Increase the protein intake in your diet...low calorie milk,eggs,green veggies,oats,wheat bran,drink at least 8 glasses of luke warm water.Do suryanamaskar(6 times or more),kapalbhati,anulom-vilom & stretching exercises,it will definetly lose your weight.....

Hi I don' t know about diets, but try to drink more water. eight 8oz glasses is recommended for a day and try to do that first. You will see the difference in a week. Initially u feel like visiting restroom often but once ur body gets used to it you will be alright. Try atleast drinking 2 glasses fo water in empty stomach.Eat heavy breakfast and lunch but eat very light dinner, that helped me a lot.

Well heres the thing..
From wat i can make out from ur post.. Skipping meals or reducing cals so drastically is definitely NOT the way to lose weight.. If you keep up this diet, your body will go into the starvation mode which means lesser calories get burned everyday. So this means u either put on more weight OR u will end up being exactly where u are. Not to mention this can lead to stuff like hair loss coz of less nutrition.
U need to eat lots more healthy stuff like veggies, milk (low fat if u like), fruits of course, bit more carbs (more for lunch and less for dinner since ur body needs more cals during the day) and the most important.. dont skip breakfast..
I dont know abt this lemon thing.. But cardio workout (like intensive aerobics) works wonders..(atleast in my case it has).. so i wud say stick to a healthy diet without starving urself and work out to increase ur metabolism.. In the long run starvation makes u put on weight but increasing ur metabolism makes u fit and helps u stay that way..
If u dont want to work out.. i would suggest GM diet which is considered healthy.. I havent tried it but its apparently good.. and gives fast results!

I am not a pro or a doctor or a diet prescriber but your weight can gain with lot of many things apart from whatever you do to controll it, do not get depressed ( thats one factor which makes you eat more) try to be happy and do get you thyroid check done it can give you immense wt gain or wt loss....tc and be happy cheers

ya dis lemon honey remedy is very effective,bt make sure tht it is not cold water,u mst take in warm water everyday early mrning wid empty stomach,if possible after taking it go for a mrning walk also atleast for 1hr,and try tht if ur walking keep ur stomach inside n walk. i also gained lot of weight bt by dis i loose 8.5kgs in 2months.

Hi shals,
Let me share my weight loss experience with u. I live in India, Gujarat. I had put on alot of weight after i left my bording school in the year 2000 & carried the excess baggage with me all thru college too ! Anyway I joint a local gym down here in Ahmedabad (with all the latest equipments to tone every part of ur body)which has helped me lose 12kgs. But drinking honey with luke warm water & lemon coupled with regular exercise & a proper diet will help u lose weight rapidly. Believe me its a tried method on myself. I have lost 12kgs in 3 months which is not easy to accomplish. And what more, getting rid of the excess baggage gives u alot of confidence. Plz let me know if u need any help
