Waiting to try:Slim women = more boys

Hi all of us,

I was just wondering after reading this at urobiologics website and thought of getting some views from others. To me it makes some sense. It mentions that body volume plays a role in family gender ratio. Since hormone production in a body stays nearly constant throughout life, it is higher in amount per cell if the women is slim vs a voluminous women. Hence there is more testosterone per cell in slim women, therefore, higher chances of fetus getting transformed to boys.

I counted few families around me and found 7 of them have skinny women, all of them having more boys, with two of them having three boys.

Am I pointing a strange observation or others also note the same. Let us discuss it here for fun.

I made an error in my message previously. If all boys on your husband side than far greater chance of concievinf a boy then a girl.

Hi Manisha
I dont think the chinese chart is 100% accurate. My sister in law did this last year the chart indicated a girl for her and she concieved a boy. this is all for fun and shouldnt be taken seriously. I know it takes too which is quite obvious to sat in concieving but scientific facts are more accurate. Babies father has the gene which detremines the sex of the baby. Dont base theories on statistics. If your husband has all brothers as does his father then chances of you concieving a boy is far greater then concieving a boy and vice versa.I am not trying to shut you down just expaining my views.

Dear all
Firstly you can just call these fun ways to pass you day. There is a 50/50 chance of concievibf either boy or girl and the only person who determines the sex of you child is you husband.

Priya, I and all agree that gender is determined by man and nature has provided 50-50% of X and Y chromosomes to man, then why some parents have more of one gender. It appears that information at the website i am referring to that women's eggs 'influence' the expression of x ad y chromosome is important.

I was just looking at the chinese chart an hour ago (after the posting about Turkish calculations by Riro below), anybody can see there that chances of getting boys is more if woman is less than 30 and for girls if above it. (Please do not press charges against me that I am promoting chinese chart now)

I think in time to come this concept is going to be important too. As they say "Tali ek haath se nahin bajti" (It takes two hands to make a clap).

Really this discussion is becoming more interesting. What are other experts on this board have to say? Please do not try just to shut me down. Think seriously. It benefits all of us.

i don't know whether this happens or not. My mother and her sister are really slim: my mom has 3 girls and 1 boy while my aunt has 3 boys! so maybe my mom is an exception and my aunt follows the rule and add them to 9 families.
But i have a Turkish friend, her grandmother can know whether you are pregnent in a boy or a girl by doing some calculation with your birth date and your husband's birthdate and your due date.
i can tell you, i did work several times, and was totally true!!

Thanks Riro for input.

These calculations have something to it. I have used chinese chart for myself and friends and found to be true about 75% cases. I think same should be true for a relationship between slimness and gender ratio in the family.

We need to dig in more. Certainly more discussion is needed on this topic.

I forgot to include myself. I am averagely skinny and have two boys. That makes 8 cases.

Dear Remya,

Thanks for participating. On one side you disagree and on other side you are indirectly supporting my point. If even or odd days influence the gender then most probably it is due to ovulation cycle phase or the nature of egg being ovulated. Sperm ratio does not change the other day.

I have been thinking about these for almost a month now and am ready to discuss anything. I do need a girl and am starting to believe that if I follow the advise I can get it.
