Don't think about what will happen if she will stop it. If you wish to make her learn bharatnatyam then you should go for it and it is very nice too. There are many benefits for children who have learned bharatnaytam.

Learning bharatnatyam or any other dance form is like learning cycling or swimming, once you know it you can't forget it so don't worry about her losing body shape. If you want her to learn it enroll her for it.

No it is nothing like that. If you want her to join Bharatanatyam then you should go for it. It is an amazing activity and it is also a part of your indian culture and it is always better for the kid to be close to the culture.

even if you dance now and give up after years its not necessary that everybody will gain weight. it depends on every one's body type. if your body type leaned towards obesity then may have chances that she will starts gaining weight. and any of these may its dancing swiming, gymnastics or regular exercising, if you stop doing it you tend to gain weight after sometime because your body gets used to such activities and you stop doing it it will show its results. but you can replace it with any other body exercises it will help.

I dont believe that's true. My wife used to dance and has given up now. She hasnt put on weight though. You can probably ensure that your child is in shape and healthy with aerobics or walking. She can take up any of it once she quits dance too!
