Try using SHATAVARI KALP. It is an ayurvedic tonic which increases milk supply. Mix this powder in hot milk, stir and drink thrice a day. i have tried it when i was breast feeding my baby. it will definitely work as i experienced milk overflow from my breast after consuming it. whereas previously i was suffering from a similer problem like your.

Good Luck , God Bless you and your little one.

Hi Siri,

I had the same problem and when I started having Mother' s Horlicks it seemed to help.

Also, i used to extract lil milk after the kid had fed, this helped in increasing the demand and hence the supply increased.

Hi Adithi,
Thanks for ur replay.definetly i will try that.how many times do u feed the baby daily.iam feeding only 5 to 6 times a day.my doctor suggest that we have to feed minimum 8 times a day.more we feed more milk will produce, but i can´ t feed her more than 5 times a day, because my baby is sleeping almost in the day time.really my milk supply is very poor.so what else can i try..to produce more milk.

Hi
You can try the methi seeds for 2-3 weeks and see if they r making a difference. U can also eat methi bhaaji
for any amt of time till u get bored of it!
You will get Shataavari at any Ayurvedic store. Where r u staying? I only know Bangalore stores. The capsules U can get from any chemist if u say they r for lactation. I' m sorry I only remember they r pink in colour.
Don' t worry u r not having enough milk. Try to be in a relaxed atmosphere while feeding the baby and only think about him/her. Sometimes even relaxing can help. Have u consulted your Gynaec about this prob? My Gynaec had prescribed those pills to me.
Bye,
Ayesha

Dear Siri,
Hope you have had some luck with feeding the baby. I think Fenugreek is methi. U don´ t need to ask the Dr if u r having it in natural form. I guess the Doctors in U.S. might have different opinions about issues like this. You can ask some relative in India to consult a Dr for you and send you his recommendations. I doubt that you will find any Ayurvedic medicine in U.S. and may have to ask somebody to send it to you from India.
Good luck.

Dear Siri,
I also had a similar prob immediately after C section. There r some Ayurvedic medicines to help, but have forgotten the names. Pl check them out in the shop. U can have Shatavari Kalpa powder, mixed with milk. When I started having it, milk was literally flowing. Also increase liquid consumption. Have more milk, soup, kheer, sabudaana kheer and methi bhaaji, or methi seeds. U can soak methi seed in water overnight and eat them next day. the bitterness will be gone. Its excellent for lactation. Pl do all this as soon as possible. The sooner the milk comes the better, otherwise your baby may refuse to have it. Formula should be avoided until and unless there is minimal milk. Pl let me know if it works for you. With the above mentioned remedies, I was producing enought milk and could stop taking them within a mth and after that was producing milk without any medication.
All the best.
Ayesha
