Hi,
Regarding the query on how to reduce the high cholesterol levels, the following tips have proven to be good.

1.Strictly follow a healthy vegetarian diet with lots of exercise which improves the heart rate.

2.Rice is known to be good for reducing cholesterol content .Pls drain out the starch while cooking rice though.

3.Soya products like adding soya flour while making chappatis, substituing whole meal flour in evry possible way like bread etc .will help

4.Have less milk products .If needed have low fat milk alone.

5.Oatmeal is believed to be very good in reducing the cholesterol.A breakfast of oats, milk, an apple & a couple of dates had regularly steps up Ur chances of controlling Ur cholesterol.

6. Garlic pods eaten every day is one of the best medicines.

7. Another tough medicine to consume but more than excellent is having a half a spoon of dry roasted & ground methi, black jeera & pepper kernels .Have half a tsp of this powder consistently for 5 months on an empty stomach in the morning & check the cholesterol content.
U will find a very appreciable difference

8.Add a lot of green coriander leaves & curry leaves in the food . It is good .
9.Fruits..bananas..apples..grapes..pappayas.pomogranates etc are V good.
Better avoiding mangoes. Green bananas are good for blood pressure..Yellow small bananas are good for cholesterol.

10. Never consume any deep fried food.

11. Use tissue papers to absorb the excess oil in cooking.

12. Maintain a positive demeanour & mind.

13. Eat fresh, stay fresh...

All the Best. Hope the tips keep U all in good stead !

Hi Sk
I forget to clarify about your 2nd question. You can have rice or chappathi. Only quantity taken should be limited. Excess of both should be avoided. Have small & frequent meals instead of bulk meals after long gaps.
Bye for now.

Hi Sk
Happy to see your response.
PUFA stands for polyunsaturated fatty acids.
All kinds of refined oil from vegetable source (eg.sunflower oil) have high PUFA content which is good for health.
If you are in India, try Saffola (Nutri Blend or Tasty blend). It is ideal for reducing triglycerides.
Avoid ghee, dalda, creams, coconut oil, palm oil etc. completely.

Hi SK
I saw your message & the response to the same.
I agree that regular exercise will yeild good results. Another very important point that needs to be taken care of is your DIET.
Take low calorie, low fat, high fibre diet.Aviod using ghee, dalda, coconut oil etc. as far as possible.
Include lots of raw vegetables in your dist. This increases fibre content in your diet. It helps in reducing triglycerides completely.
Have small frequent meals instead of having 2 bulk/heavy meals.
Using oils high in PUFA content is a must. Use oil sparingly.
To sum it up, Proper Diet coupled with exercise will give you long lasting results.
