I enrolled for stem cell banking with lifecell in my 4 th month of pregnancy, all through I was concerned whether my stem cell collection process would happen well as planned. Elders at home kept scaring me that no deliveries happen on the estimated date of delivery and coordinating for the stem cell collection process with the stem cell banking will be another headache at the last moment. But, all to my surprise Lifecell engaged a paramedic to do the needful intact. Unlike my expectations the baby’s umbilical cord stem cell collection process was so neatly done by them.

You just need to contact any nearby stem cell bank. The procedures are done at the time of the delivery. The stem cells are extracted from the umbilical cord and preserved for the future use. Thank You

Umbilical cord is discarded as waste once the baby is delivered but it is source of stem cells which can be preserved for future when required by the individual born. It can help in treating various diseases and treatment process.

Search for banks who provide stem cell policies and then visit the banks and see what all do they offer for it or you can read their policies if possible and choose wisely because in a way the future of the child is dependent.

It is a very easy procedure. After umbilical cord has been cut, the blood in the cord is collected. This is then processed and frozen in cryogenic storage tanks in the laboratory. So you see the discarded blood is made to use for the process.

Cord blood banking is a one-time opportunity to save your baby' s cord blood stem cells for later uses. It can save life of your baby or other family members in case of life threatening diseases or other cases. It is a painless procedure that happens after delivery. You just need to talk to your doctor regarding this.
