Subject:  Importance of Iron During Pregnancy
Iron is essential for making hemoglobin the protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to other cells. During pregnancy, the amount of blood in the body increases. You also need extra iron for your growing baby and placenta. If you do not have enough iron to make the hemoglobin that you need, you become anemic. It’s hard to get enough iron through diet alone so it is required to take daily supplement of iron. Iron deficiency is by far the most common cause of anemia in pregnancy.

Subject:  Improving Heamoglobin Levels during pregnancy
It is best to improve the blood haemoglobin levels during pregnancy through iron supplements and foods rich in iron. Pregnant women are prone to very low haemoglobin count so they can get to a decent level of haemoglobin through iron rich foods. Green leafy vegetables and few other veggies such as beetroot, tomatoes, spinach, kidney beans (rajma), turnip, pumpkin are some good iron sources. resh and dried fruits can also help to elevate blood count. It is quite possible to maintain heamoglobin level from through food.

Subject:  Low Heamoglobin Detected
I am into my fifth month of pregnancy. During my last check up, I found that I had a low level of heamoglobin i.e. 7.3. i am taking Fefol tablets, but it leads to constipation. Now I am trying to increase my haemoglobin naturally by increasing the intake of dates, molasses and raw bananas. Will it be possible for me to maintain my heamoglobin level from through food intake or do I need other supplements for making my delivery easy?
