Intelligent Child:Too imaginative !
2007-08-21
Name: Roopali Hi ! I am a single mother working in Delhi however my 6 yrs old daughter stays with my parents in Bareilly.I visit her on weekends and keep in touch thru tel. as well.

My problem started when she came to stay with me for a week during her vacations. One of my male friends who visited me during that time and also my daughter had fun time with him.But as soon as she went back to her granny she developed a sort of hatred for the person with whom she had enjoyed like anything. She made stories about me and him and told to her granny.Stories seemed so real that my parents had bno reason to disbelief. Now I m really stressed how to handle this with my kid somehow I' ll be able to convince my parents but this behaviour has given me a shock. Please help me and advise how to react

Although i m very late in my reply..hope u read this. And also tell me the changes happened in bet.
U hvnt written in detail what kind of story she makes but may be :
1. Ur frnd has shown him some interest so she has become possesive abt him.
2. As she has no father so maybe getting attached to him & dont want anyone to come in bet.

Pls take care of her & listen to everything she says with patience.
Kids r very observing & its growing time.

Looks like although your daughter appeared to have a good time with the friend of yours, she did not like it as she interpreted him to have come between your and her relationship. She must have somewhere felt a bit jealous , just like kids become jealous on arrival of second child. she might have felt insecure in her heart , that mommy has no time for her, so she made up stories after going back to granny. After going back to Granny, the fun that she had with that friend was forgotten , but the insecurity was more strong. This is what I feel, and may not be the case, just a thought.

RE:Reading Newspapers
How old is your kid as it depends on the age of the child and one cannot force a five year old to read the newspaper so if your child is above ten years then yes you should ask him or her to read the newspaper daily.... - Aditi [View Message]
RE:Reading Newspapers
I think you should not force a child to read a newspaper as this is not necessary at all and one must avoid it so please do not force your child and make sure you let enjoy your child in what he is happy in doing.... - Anju [View Message]
