Adoption:Understanding the Adoption Home Study Report

Name: Editor Have you heard of the home study report before? Do you know anyone who has undergone the home study before adopting a child? Do you think this is a good way to determine a couple' s eligibility for adoption?

One way of making things a bit easier is to use the same home study report if the people have already adopted a child. At least then there will be less work and the agency can spend more time with initial parents during adoption. It is very lenhthy procedure so the parents may contact the same adoption agency which they had contacted earlier for the previous adoption. Therefore, the adoption agency may require less time for processing all the details as they already know the parents very well and there will be less difficulty while adopting another child.

I agree that this procedure seems to be very long. Still, we must remember that this is all for the children. We must ensure that the child is placed in a safe environment and is not exploited. There are so many cases happening where parents who adopt the children are actually adopting them for some other dangerous reasons. This is very harmful for children and result in many things like exploitation of innocent orphan children and various other things.

Wow! This home study thing really sounds like a lot of work. Then, you have to submit a lot of documents too. How many times does the social worker come to visit anyway? All this cannot possibly happen in one day. I think that is why the adoption procedure is taking so much time in India. There are so many parents who are still kept on hold by the adoption agencies to adopt a child. Also there are many children waiting to be adopted by adoptive parents. It will be so difficult for them to wait for such a long time to adopt and get their own child.
