hai!i agree that it is little bit too much for mixe.but it is really heavy duty for all types of indian grinding.but once you think of bringing it from india it is simpe to buy it from here.anyway mixie in india also cost around Rs 7000.so it is not a big deal.
and i have one more tip for you.while grinding next time try adding hot water from micro wave.and grind it for little long time.it can make smooth coconut paste.

When you buy a mixie or mixier grinder from India. It might sound cheaper
But think before you buy -
You need an appropriate voltage converter, which would cost $35 to $50
Inspite of using a converted, the motor gets heated up easily and this would decrese the life of the motor
and you have to take for frequent repair service, as the wear and tear parts, worns out easily.
Moreover, it is not advisable or safe to use any mixie with a convertor, as there are chance for fire accidents.

Also, when you buy any mixie from India, it is not easy to repair here in the USA.
The warrranty is no use here in the USA.

Three years ago, I bought Preethi mixie that was door delivered and the unit was backed up with warranty.
Go to this web site - perfectpeninsula
I strongly advise you to consider buying mixie here in the USA, rather bringing it from India.
