Due Date Club January 2008:How to increase haemoglobin

Name: MP

Hi All,
I am into 26 wks of pregnancy. I had got my blood test done, it showed haemoglobin 8.8 as for previous checkup it was 10.6(in 3rd mth). Doc says usually it drops in last trimester but mine has dropped before that. She says we' ll check for 1 mth if it raises-good else i' ll be given iron injections.
I am worried abt all these can anybody suggest what to eat so that my haemoglobin raises to normal, I have started taking palak, amla, green leafy veg. Is there anything else which I am missing.
Pls suggest.
Best wishes to all.
MP

Take broccoli, spinach, corn along with some orange juice. You can google to find other veggies high in Iron. Vitamin C helps iron absorption. Take varieties of fruits not just one type. BTW do you feel any difference in your health because of low hemoglobin?

Hi MP,

Don' t worry. My HB has also got descreased & as per my doc it' s normal.
I have also started taking green leafy vegetables as yours. Plus I am also making a point to eat atleast 2 apples a day. Earlier I used to have only one.
Increase your intake of fruits as much as you can. Don' t worry, everything would be alright.

Take Care
SV

Year of school admission
Hi, my son was born in January 2008. My doubt now is his school admission. CBSE needs children to complete 3 years and 6 months for LKG. Is this confirmed? If that is so, the age is calculated as on what date? If it is by June 1st, then our kids will miss out by a few days. That is still allright as many people nowadays believe it is good to join kids in LKG as late as... - Sujani [View Message]
