Name: Myana I love Chinese food. I just need to have at least twice a week. Now I am pregnant and my doctor says to avoid Chinese. I cannot stop my cravings. What should I do? Can I have Chinese once a week?

chinese food contains ingredients which is harmful for baby in pregnancy period so if you are too much craving for chinese food try to make chinese flavor food at home without using sauces in that.

you can cook chinese food at home instead of all sauses you can use chilli flakes, also instead of vinegar you can use lemon juice, instead of ajinomoto you can use normal salt. and you can cook healthy food.

I don't know much about what happens if the craving are not fulfilled but is you are not able to handle the craving instead of eating Chinese food outside which can be a little unhealthy, cook it yourself if you can.

Hi dear.The main reason why doctors advise pregnant women to avoid Chinese food is the use of ajinomoto in it which is not good for the baby.But you can always cook at home Chinese style but try and avoid the Chinese sauces.Instead make a simple stir fry with all the julienne cut veggies or prawns or chicken alongwith bell peppers or fish.Don' t use sauces,instead use plain salt and pepper or a little chilli powder too would do.Instead of vinegar use lemon juice.You can even make fried rice the same way.Use eggs and spring onions if you want.If you want you can even make simplified schezwan sauce at home just replacing vinegar with lemon juice.I think this should help.
