My daughter is 19 months old and for past 5 days her motion is watery...passes around 6-7 times a day..doc. advised zinconia syrup(2.5ml morning & evening for 10 days), electrobion to be given every watery stool..She is active, playing ..yesterday she got severe cold & cough with fever upto 99.5 degrees.. doc. advised sinarest..no congestion
Last 4 weeks back i started giving her eggs, ragi kanji..but i don' t think so she might be allergic to these new foods..
Very much worried..please help hetal

Actually I tasted a bit of zinconia. It tastes terrible (too sweet). She spits out most of it and cries too! (I give it with a medicine syringe)

My 6 month old daughter has been passing watery stools (6-7 times per day) for the past one week. Doctor presc. zinconia (5ml per day)and econorm. Doc resorted to Antibiotic next day as the motion did not reduce. Now its much better - large loose potty, 2-3 times and a little drops a few times. Doc has asked me to continue with Zinconia and that the terrible part. Baby cries uncontrollably when I try to give her med. I in fact split it into 2.5 ml and give twice a day. I hate that I have to force into a crying, helpess baby' s mouth. (I started crying too...). We all want to stop zinconia....

Instead of giving such english medicines it is good to give some natural medicine for children for such problems.

Potty would be common for kids at this age and it must be solved some how because kids can not express what they feel and they have single expression that they cry i they hurt.

Zinconia and colic such medicines are preferred when kids would suffer from diarrhea or vomiting and many more.But parents must not give medicine when they want.

Naturally this medicine is preferred when kids do face the problem of diarrhea.But it is better to have precautions and prevent to get such diseases in advance.

Zinconia syrup is given to baby when they suffer from diarrhea.It must be given in less quantity three times in a day.Then you will see improvement in the baby.

When doctor had suggested you with the medicine you can try that.Even then there is no improvement then you need to go for banana if your child eats it,it will clear that problem of your kid.

So your child is facing heavy problem fro stool then you need to solve this immediately because it will lead to heavy problem and you have to be very careful regarding that then only your child health will be fine.

You can get either glycerin or bisacodyl suppositories in any Indian pharmacy - I recommend saving money by not buying child-size ones, instead cutting adult supps in half to make a child-size dosage.

Most doctors say banana doesn't help - the potassium in it makes constipation worse. Remember you can make your own prune puree in a blender. Grape, grapefruit and papaya are also laxative fruits.
