Peer Pressure:Obsessing about weight because of friends
2013-01-10
Name: Tahina My daughter is in her early teens. she is healthy and not fat but recently I have seen her obsessing about her weight. She is skipping her meals as she wants to reduce her weight. I think she is doing this because of her friend circle.

You have to make your daughter your friend. This may seem difficult but will happen eventually. you have to make her understand the difference between obsession and looking good. You have to guide her towards eating healthy for a healthy skin and fit body.

Subject:  Obsessing about looks
Teens are generally concerned more about their looks as they are seeking their own identity. They want to look good also because they want to be accepted into a group. As a parent you should advise your kid to focus on other activities also besides looking good. You have to advise her that looking good is important for studies and other activities will help her stand out
