I think face painting is a waste of time. You take so much trouble to paint your child' s face properly. Hardly little while later, you have to wash it off. All your hard work then goes in vain.

I found this article very interesting. I always assumed that face painting was done using regular paints. Now I realise that there are special paints for this purpose. I also liked the part about using sponges. I had not thought about cutting the sponge and using the edges to make effects.

Are these paints safe for children? I was at a party once where they had this painting going on. One of the children there got her face painted. After some time, her skin broke out into a rash. I got very scared and I did not allow my children to get their faces painted after seeing that.

Hi. These paints are perfectly safe for your children. If that child was the only one affected at the party, then it must have simply been an allergic reaction. If you are still unsure, why not go in for a homemade paint. At least this way you are sure of each ingredient in the paint.
