Health Concerns:Hydramnios (too much liquor)

Name: Mayurika Although I thought I was having a great pregnancy, the doctor just informed me today that my stomach was too big and that was because of excess fluid around the baby. I have been asked to have a very controlled diet, otherwise I run the risk of miscarriage. I am worried. Has anybody had the same problem?

Hi Mayurika,

I had the same problem with my first pregnancy. the doctor put me on an almost salt-free diet and actually restricted my intake of fluids. I could only have about 3 glasses of water the whole day, and that too in the month of May when it was so hot. She put me on this diet for a period of 6 weeks, and not only did I not gain weight, but I actually lost a litlle bit. But that was OK because the excess water around the baby reduced drastically and that was causing the weigt loss. So just don't worry, but you must make sure you follow a good diet though.

Hello dear according to me you should not think so much and just relax and just visit few of the doctors in your area and then decide which is the best for you, because everyone will have their own personal reviews which might differ person to person.... - Sujata [View Message]
