Kids & Food:Tiffin Troubles

My child insists on having Peppy and Lays for lunch in his tiffin box. He refuses to eat anything else saying that all the kids bring this to school. I dont know how healthy this is. Hes in the third standard and I feel he should be eating nutritious food but how do I convince him?

Your child is growing and needs nutrition. Tell him his bones will get weak and he won't have strong muscles if he doesn't start healthy habits now. And its true- who ever heard of a healthy kid who only ate Peppy and Lays?

My daughter was the same , I started encouraging her to have other things saying that slowly she will ahve weak bones, she cannot run and she will not feel better to go to school . Also I expalined to her that her teeth will get affected, at home I started cooking nutritous coloured food and started sticking tooth picks and gave her chop sticks to make it more attractive
try it
it should work

Hi there,

How are you? The problem that you are facing is very common nowadays. Your son is too young to understand the value of nutrition. What you can do is that instead of giving him lays or peppy as a main item give it as a side dish. Let the main item be a veg. sandwich or something that he likes. That way he will be getting the required nutrition and he'll be happy too. Hope that helps.

RE:The Parents Guide to Healthy Snacking
So my sister’s child is a very fussy eater. She generally makes veggie cheese rolls or sandwiches to get her to eat her vegetables. She tries to use colourful and pretty veggies to get her to eat. Giving smoothies, fruit salads and milkshakes is another appetizing and attractive method. In fact she even decided to supplement her diet with Immuno Boosters and Brain Booste... - say [View Message]
