my teenager has had a nasty cough for almost 3 weeks. he has been on duricef and was also put on robotussin w/ codeine to help him sleep at night. he throws up the yucky stuff from his lungs but then the next day its back and we start the process all over. my son also has allergies. it sounds like he has pnemonia. any help? whats the diff between pnemonia and bronchitis?

for a cough first don't give the baby straight milk water it down a little second use a humidifier, third try elevating the baby by putting a pillow under the head of the mattress so that its slightly higher in the head area , no cold drafts move child away from window , you can also try a food that will coat the throat no milk products lastly with all these tricks and nothing works baby my have post nasal drip see a doctor and absolutely no honey NO HONEY this can severely harm you're baby ask a doctor why or google the question good luck all

my 19 month old son has been having a cough since Beginning march 2008 and it is now May 2008 and he still is coughing during the night. i took him to the dr for his 18 month old check up in March and he said it was asthma to give him a nebulizer treatment each night and should help...i don't see the helping part anywhere. i am brining him in to the doctor again for a recheck...my baby had RSV Bronchilitis when he was 4 months old then again when he was 15 months! :(

Your children are coughing because their airway is constricted. They need to have a breathing treatment. It is a machine that produces mist and you add the breathing medicine to the machine and the child wears a mask over his or her face and inhales the moist air along with the medication. This machine is called a nebulizer. The name of the breathing medication is called Albuterol. A treatment must be given every 4-6 hours for the 1st couple of days. Then you can ease off to maybe 3 times a day for 2 weeks. I was once like you all and my babies coughed until I learned what was going on. See your doctor and bring this information to them. If you do not get the machine or medication from your doctor go see a specialist (pulmonary doctor). Good Luck.

please get your child vacinated against whooping cough i didnt cause i have family members who were handicapped. so i was scared so i got the whooping cough one missed but my son caught it was really frightning months later he is still coughing if he had the vac he probley be ok by now i keep telling myself it is a awful thing to go through please get your child vac dont let THEM suffer.

There seems to be alot of articles about coughing! Poor Kids! I have heard that Honey and Lemon is good and Natural. Garlic also helps. Massage on the back can break up Phlem. I hope this helps! Good Luck!
