My son will be 5 in May and currently he weighs at 15 kgs. I'm very perplexed as he has very good appetites. He eats more than 3 meals a day and he doesn't like to snack so much. His metabolism level is normal and he is not hyperactive. He has large tonsils and adenoids, can this be the cause? My 2 other children have normal weights. Please advise.

My granddaughter was a normal weight at birth but never nursed well and now at 20 months still doesn't eat well at all. It seems her parents have done everything they can think of to entice her to eat, but she hates trying new things and will only take a few bites of foods she likes. She is very active and happy but she is way off the weight chart and weighed less than 14 lbs. at a year. Is there anyone else out there who has seen something similar? Can a 20 month old be prescribed vitamins? I am concerned that she might get an illness and not be able to fight it.

My child too is underweight. But he has healthy eating habits and a good routine. So I dont worry about his low weight as I too used to be underweight as a child!

My son's DOB is 12.01.2002 and birth weight was 3 kgs. Till two years he was alright. After that suddenly he had wheezing and sinus with some allergies and was hospitalised thrice. Once he went to ICCU with ventilator support for 8 days. At present, he is on medication and respiratory inhalers with mask and nebuliser. He is normally is very active and naughty boy in the school and is going to LKG now. My worry is he is no gaining weight and height compare to other children of same age. His present weight is 11 kgs only. His eating habits are not too good. Only some items he likes. Kindly give me some advice to improve his weight and height.

Dear All, I am a perplexed mother and would love some reassurance . My son is going to be 10 mths old. He was born 2.75 kgs in the 38th week. After birth though he put on weight pretty fast but again after 3 mths weight gain was slow. he has never lost weight but his weight has been slow. He is a hyper active child, strated doing everything before time and is extremely playful. He eats well, sleeps well and is a happy baby. He is healthy and falls ill rarely. His weight at 9 mths was 7.300 kgs and hieght was 65 cms. I am extremely worried whether is OK. I would want some advice.
