Our baby was colic too on top of that he had a burping issue where we had to burp him every 10 mins (but still colic and crying). On the 5th day, I gave him one tea spoon of thin drinking Yoghurt that contained Probiotic with Vitamin B1, B2, B12. When we gave it for the 3rd time (gave one or half tea spoon every 4-6 hours) and crying stopped, burps also normalized. Since then we gave one tea spoon of drinking yogurt every day, and there was no colic whatsoever afterwards. Also we gently massaged him every time we got the opportunity and it made him very happy and cheerful.

We too had a colicky baby.I am a doctor by profession and as we realised the difficulties,we would like to share some tips which we hope will help u too.. 1.Burp him/her for minimum 10 minutes after each feed even if you feel its not useful 2.Make him lie prone and pat him on his back while he/she is crying and see if it helps 3.While carrying him make sure that his tummy is well appossed to your body 4.Dont feed him too frequently,give a reasonable gap as too frequent feeding may worsen his pain 5.Take enough rest while someone else is there to look after your kid as you need to be healthy to take care of him for 3-4months.

yeah. it is a real drain on your patience. My husband was a real help. he would take teh baby away from me and wlak with her for even an hour. our doctor advised us to get a bouncer that can rock the baby . it seems to be very useful but by the time we decided 2 get one, her colic period was over.

The author of this advice on colicky babies is heartless and stupid-babies cry because there is pain and that is the only way they can communicate their distress. To get ear plugs is a monsters way of dealing with your baby-new parents need to get a pediatricians help rather than advise parents in this uneducated fashion, which could so damage the child and its recovery. If a new parent has been upset and had 'scary' thoughts while their baby was colicky, you obviously were not ready or mature enough to be a parent. Seek help, please all of you, at least for the sake of your helpless and pain-ridden babies.

I read a book called "Happiest baby on the block" all about soothing a colicky baby. He says to swaddle the baby snugly, then make a gentle shhh sound while you hold the baby on her side and bounce her very gently. I have seen this work miracles, even with the most frustrated and desperate parents. Learn how to swaddle well, this step is crucial and might work all on it's own.

My first child was a textbook baby. He required little or no burping and slept when he was supposed to! So it was no wonder I was excited to have another - wow what a difference he had colic and did not sleep in the first three months. Thank God for gripe water! I went on to have a girl who suffered slightly with it too. My babies are now 13,12,and 10 and I can still remember how different they were as newborns!

my youngest was born almost two years ago and he has not slept through yet, we have taken him to a professional place and stayed five nights to teach him how to sleep and they threw their arms up in the air and gave up on him. I have come to a conclusion if he is happy sleeping on the lounge then he can sleep there at least I can get some sleep. I think when it comes to things like this take the easy road and let them sleep where ever they want so you can actually sleep. It saved me he will hopefully understand that bed time means bedtime soon. Also I find laughing about it probably saved me.
