High blood pressure is known as silent killer. If you or someone near and dear is suffering from high blood pressure, you need to keep it in control. The best way to manage blood pressure is through managing lifestyle and the two best things that you can do is follow a healthy eating and yoga lifestyle.

Yoga has loads of advantages and most of the people practice yoga because of its therapeutic and calming nature. It also teaches you better breathing system so that it helps lower your blood pressure. Hypertension is another name for high blood pressure. This is related to various diseases like heart attack, stroke and some other diseases that can lead to death also.

  • Along with yoga, you should concentrate on pranayama and the most effective among all is Anuloma Viloma pranayama. This is a breathing technique in which you breath from one nostril and breath out from another one. The main benefit is that Anuloma Viloma pranayama helps and equalizes, restores and stabilizes the flow of prana in the body. It calms down your mind and nervous system.
  • Yoga has been a proven fact from years and the medical science has also started believing in this technique. This is because the scientists found out that the nasal cycle is related to the nervous system and helps the brain to function properly. This alternate breathing technique helps clear any kind of blockage in the way to the nostrils and helps to reestablish the natural nasal cycle.

There are different yoga postures that help reduce high blood pressure. The main thing is that you should be consistent and regular in that. Remember the inhaling and exhaling is very important in yoga and you should do that with proper caution and knowledge. Complete knowledge is very important without which you might get into some trouble or you will not find any benefit out of that. While doing yoga you should stretch only that much as far your flexibility allows you. A little bit of meditation will help you a lot in calming down your nerves and manage your blood pressure.

When we talk about yoga and yoga postures, it does not mean that you have to go through some tough and hard exercises. This was a misconception with understanding yoga. The gentler form of yoga or pranayama benefits you as it helps in the proper flow of blood throughout your body. What you need to do is concentrate on your breathing. Apart from these benefits, practicing yoga helps you get rid of small health problems that people face usually and will help you stay fit and healthy too.
