Ten years of parenting the Indian way
Dear Readers,
Launched on 14th May 1999, IndiaParenting.com today completes ten successful years of helping parents walk the fine line of parenting!
I launched this website ten years ago when my daughter was just born (she was the inspiration of course ... but she gets embarrassed when I say that) at the peak of the Internet revolution in India. I am really amazed at how time has flown ... she is now 10 years old and has outgrown my shoes, literally!
My dream was to make IndiaParenting the answer to everything that a parent would want when raising kids, right from conceiving a baby, to pregnancy, naming the baby, diapering, nursery rhymes, manner, discipline, games, etc. I do believe we have been successful to some extent, as is evident from your feedback.
I also feel very strongly that dads are as important as moms in a child's life, which is why the site always talks to "you, the parent", and not "you, the mom" (except in the pregnancy channel ... sorry dads, that's our domain).
Over the years, we have continued to add quality content and lots of new and innovative tools. We have also expanded into many other areas of family life, including beauty, cooking, travel, home décor, spirituality and much more.
I am happy to say that IndiaParenting has received such an overwhelming response from its readers, that it has been well-worth all the hard work that my team and I have put into the site. Thanks to all of you, we are proud to be recognized as India's Best Family Website by several independent agencies.
You have been with us for the past 10 years; we look forward to your continued patronage in the years to come.
